I did a scoundrel and I could kill just about everything with force lightning, possibly an overpowered force power. But I couldn't touch Malak. The fight was impossible.

- learn a martial art + become someone who can relate to anyone+ learn to drive a stick< become an anime character x write an enjoyable short story+ explore all the mountains around my house- survive in the mountains alone for three days (TOO LONG AWAY FROM MUSIC!!!) x slip on the floor, knock a girl off her feet, and catch her. ;D - create a substance... any substance < kiss a girl + eat enough meat to call myself the heaviest man in the world< delete all my music I downloaded from youtube < buy my own computerx continue the novel I started a long time agox chew some food for thought (sc anybody?)+ get into the NHS (I'm honestly too lazy... )- find some new inspirational music < stay up for 72 hours (I've gotten to 46... )Most of these are not actual resolutions, just ideas for my life... I guess that is a resolution. < stop making stupid comments without thinking. ;D

It seems an appropriate time of year to revitalize this thread. I need to work on being more social. I need friends that I can actually see. (All of my friends currently live in other towns.) I also need to finish my novel and start sending it off to agents. On that note, I want to spend a whole week doing nothing but writing. Get a passport! I want to travel. I'm not good at thinking of resolutions, but those are a start.

I know what you mean... the resolutions I posted just before came from an hour of brainstorming about what to write...
I'm just wondering whether I wasted an hour of my life or what....
That's another resolution:
- Stop wasting so much time.

Can thinking about improving your life be a waste of time, though? I suppose it could, if you only think and never act. And I just answered my own question.

Here's a question; Can it go from a waste of time to not a waste? Sure, just accomplish something on the list. But can it go from not a waste of time to a waste Another: < Finish the Fall/Winter Contest.

Excellent resolution. I suppose if it's all thought and no action, it would be a waste of time to think about improving your life. But if you give it enough thought to be able to put it into action, then it's not a waste at all. Unless, I suppose, your thoughts later inform your actions so that you subconsciously improve your life, even if you're not really trying.

"spend a whole week doing nothing but writing." That would be really cool actually. You should do that. I'm sure you're familiar with the story of how Harper Lee was given donations so she could do nothing but write for a year...and wrote To Kill A Mockingbird. I hear of people taking technology-vacations, too, maybe you could combine them? Except I think you use your laptop to write. Not to mention talk with us.
Oh and Mask you should definitely do that survive-in-the-mountains thing. Maybe not in winter. But some time. I was thinking of doing it last summer and didn't and regret it now. Bring a notebook, etc. Do you have a dog? Do you know the edible plants in your region? Will you be packing your food, catching/finding it, or a combination?
Speaking of which here is my updated list:
x Drive a standard x Drive Dad's '59 Rover without feeling like I've hijacked a T-rex (this was helped a lot by the fact he tightened up the steering) - Rock climbing. + Aikido x Basic lock picking + Guitar x quick accurate sketch. x morse code + drop-K tapcode x learn which plants you can eat (that grow in eastern North America) + navigate with the stars < hotwire a car x jumpstart a car x hillstart a car (this was fun) x basics of electronics - more advanced electronics < CPR < Heimlich + Swim a mile + run a mile (without throwing up afterwards) + mend clothing < spot-weld - Learn a language (backburnered.) x Learn the basic varieties of poker + build a shelter - catch, clean, cook, and eat a fish - how to shoot a rifle without breaking my shoulder x Cut back on Ritalin (Never. Again. Same with coke. I don't want to be a monster.) x Cut back on caffeine (A nice cup in the morning and sometimes one in the afternoon. I can live with this.) - Cut back on alcohol
and...
x Squats and lunges every day. I'm up to 2 reps of 10, each, twice a day. I had no idea how out of shape I was. But now I'm getting better! My ass is looking FINE. + Go for a run twice a week. (been a bit slack with this) - keep a daily sketchbook/journal again. I was thinking about this earlier and it's time. + finally get my website up and running. I've bought the domain and finalized the design, but. - Relationship. So lonely. + Speaking of which, get over myself.

I do write with my laptop. I also use the internet quite often to research things on the fly, so I'd be helpless without it. I'm hoping to take a week off work sometime soon to just write. Of course, they've already given me almost two full weeks for the holidays (one of which I didn't even ask for, but was definitely glad I got it), so I'm not sure I'll be able to get another week so soon. Still, I'd like to just knuckle down and finish my darn novel already. Speaking of getting in shape, have any of you heard of the Insanity workout? It is aptly-named. My parents and I did it together, and goodness is it difficult. I'm definitely in better shape, now. It's long, though - 90 days of hour-long workouts, a strict meal plan, only one day off a week. We've moved on to T-25 now, which is a shorter workout plan with the same trainer. I get the relationship thing, too, Zoom. That's part of my "be more social" resolution.

Mm I know the feeling...I don't know how well I'd acclimate to not being able to instantly know how electric motors work, the definition of 'denuded', and Canada's oil imports for 2012. I just googled the Insanity workout...major respect for you and your parents; I would undoubtedly die.

Heh, I'm just glad that Insanity is over. T-25 is much easier to manage. Really, though, after I got in the habit, Insanity wasn't so bad. Don't get me wrong, it was hard. But mentally, it got easier.

Sapphire, I had to read that three times before I finally understood that... and I'm still not sure I do. Congratulations. Also, I think that it's possible to be reverted from not a waste to a waste if you fall into your old habits after forming new ones. Then again, you wouldn't have accomplished it in the first place, so... Idk. Zoom, what do you mean by drive a standard? Is that an automatic as opposed to a stick? Also, I have started to seriously consider that mountain survival objective. I need to plan, but that's not so hard. Also, I don't have a dog. I have a cat, but they aren't much use in the wilderness. *derpface* I need to learn the edible plants, I will probably pack, and might catch at the extreme need. Also, not to show you guys up, but I have a mild form of asthma, and I run for an hour four days out of the week. So I really don't need much in that department. ;D Btw, what is Ritalin? Never mind. I'll just google it.

Heh. That's what happens when I post sleep-deprived. I kinda sorta not really make sense. I applaud you, Mask. I applaud you. I hate running. Though I do have a sort of reverse-asthma. Normally (I think), people with asthma tend to have more trouble breathing out. I have trouble breathing in. I was tested for exercise-induced asthma several years ago, and they decided I didn't have it. They never did figure out the problem, though. It's only bad when I run, so I can still do things like workout DVDs. I blame the fact that I've had pneumonia twice.

That's actually really similar to mine, and mine started just after I had recovered from a really bad respiratory infection of some sort. I don't know what it was, but It kept me from school for about a week and a half. Mine acts up when It's cold, when my allergies act up, and If I don't have an inhaler, then I can't run nearly as far before it starts. I've learned to live with it though, so it's no biggie.
