Here is a list of collective nouns that I found. I knew a few, but I that's only like five of them. Personally these are why I love the English language.

Kind of like this too...I think part of writing is being so in love with the world that we pay a lot of attention to it and then try to show it to other people.
Of course a lot of these feel kind of archaic so maybe they literally mean worship.

I wonder who made up these things and how they decided on the "official" terms.

They came about in the 15th century, at least most of them did. And I believe I might coin the phrase apropos.
