Hospitals with generators would last a while, but generators die eventually, too. I'd just get my hands on a can opener and stock up on lots and lots of canned goods. 10 minutes ago sapphire: I feel like few people would survive, though, depending on the nature of the disaster that caused all electronics to die. We're far too dependent on that kind of thing. Even our communications. 11 minutes ago sapphire: I love the thought you've put into this. Transportation-wise, I would definitely go for a horse. There are SO MANY that are trained and rideable, and yes you have to feed them and they do die eventually, but you can breed them and they will eat grass/hay. 12 minutes ago Zoom: Okay I'm stopping here. I've seriously spent so much time thinking this out 7 hours ago Zoom: RADIO. Easy to keep radio going. I can imagine some old dude with time on his hands and a few spare batteries keeping it at it just for kicks and a little hope 7 hours ago Zoom: Roads are going to be hard to keep clear though. Mountain bikes will be a massive commodity. Eventually as they rust and break horses and mules will take over again 7 hours ago Zoom: Are they going to be moving around much? I bet I could rig up, if I had some time and help, a human-powered minivan-type-thing with a few bicycles 7 hours ago Zoom: Solar panels but WOW so hard to fix if they fail. Wind is hard to keep running. Hydro is basically impossible unless you know what you're doing. 7 hours ago Zoom: Batteries while they last 7 hours ago Zoom: Propane 7 hours ago Zoom: Glass bottles and mason jars are SO HANDY but so hard to make; I bet people would throw them around a lot less 7 hours ago Zoom: Lighters, I bet there would be raiding, lighters. If there's raiding also medicine from pharmacies. Go for the antibiotics and disinfectants. People will certainly head for the painkillers sneakily. 7 hours ago Zoom: Sorry, I've thought about this A LOT 7 hours ago Zoom: You can keep food pretty cold with two jars with wet sand between, good for short-term storage. Plus all the old ways of curing meat would come back 7 hours ago Zoom: I can imagine live music - people playing together - would become a thing again, a kind of community cohesive 7 hours ago Zoom: almost certainly open. I bet a plow isn't too too hard to put together if it doesn't have to last - make a new one every couple years till the smithy gets itself together. Also I want to restate bicycles because yes, definitely 7 hours ago Zoom: Bicycles, definitely. I bet a handpump for water wouldn't be too hard to rig up. Woodstoves. I feel like gasoline would be stored for an emergency, along with maybe one or two vehicles (land + air?) that would be kept in good shape. A distillery would
There I have immorotalized it. Thanks!

The number and type of instruments for music would remain about the same until people figured out how to make them by hand and it would be exceedingly annoying to do so.
