Ah, yes, absolutely. I can't wait to see it.
That does make sense and I would imagine they would do so since it's a widely popular series and the books are good.

I'm really excited about the actress they chose for Katniss. I didn't think she was right for the role, at first, but then I saw her in the trailer... And yeah, I'm now a fan.

Yep, definitely. Seeing the previews, she's perfect. When is it coming out? March?

March 23rd. I'm going to see if I can convince someone to go to the midnight showing with me.
I think the actress they chose for Effie is not quite right, though. She's to... sinister. I always imagined Effie as kind of perky and bright and clueless, like everyone from the Capital. They don't understand the suffering, so for her to be kind of creepy just seems wrong to me.

Oh, it's a friday. I'll go with you! Let me just crash first when I get back from school and then put my alarm clock on for 11PM. Who's the actress? Honestly, I don't remember who Effie was. It was a long time since I read the books...

Haha. Gonna come to New York? That would be awesome, just saying. Effie is the one who draws and announces the names, then escorts Katniss and Peeta everywhere in the Capital. She's supposed to be all bright and cheery. She's played by Elizabeth Banks, who I think looks the part but needs to be... well, brighter and cheerier. Heh.

Ack, I could drive there in one day but I'd be knackered and probably fall asleep during the movie, but that would be awesome.
Oh...yes. Ah, I can see that. I just want to see the movie now.

Hmm. Drive here early, sleep during the day, then see the movie at midnight! I know... I'm so impatient. I want it to be March 23rd now. Even if it's not perfect (and of course it won't be), it will be amazing to see that world come to life. I think that's my favorite part of books becoming movies.

Hehe. It's unfortunate that it's a week after spring break because otherwise I could spend my spring break in New York for the movie. Yes! I love that. Even though I always end up that the movie isn't as good as the book, it's still really cool to see it in images. Like Eragon was an amazing movie but in comparison to the book eck!

Ah, too bad. That would have been pretty cool.
I've taught myself to just let go of the book when I'm watching the movie, most of the time. If I'm not constantly comparing them, the movies are usually pretty amazing. Except for the Ella Enchanted movie, but they changed the entire plot there, so... Yeah.

I remember reading that book. I didn't know there was a movie about it. The book was good, but if they changed everything I'm not going to see it. In The Golden Compass I hated how the polar bear's jaw just came off, no blood, no muscle, nothing. Just oh his jaw's on the ground and because it's not realistic it's still PG. Gah, so dumb. But I really liked the book series.

Yeah, the movie came out ages ago, but it was pretty terrible. They made the whole thing into a comedy, and none of the characters were like they were supposed to be... The ogres, for example, were just misunderstood, rather than evil, and they ended up helping to save the kingdom. Also, they added a talking snake as the evil king's familiar type thing, and Char was the king's nephew (his father was the rightful king but died), and the evil king was using Ella to get rid of Char so that he could stay king. So yeah. Very, very different from the book.
Ah, yeah, that was irritating. I sort of understand, with the books being popular with young people, but it could have used a bit more gore. I barely remember that movie, though, honestly. I only saw it once, right when it came out.

Whoa, yeah. I don't think they should be allowed to do movies that they say are 'based on' the story when they're clearly not.
There's young people who love Harry Potter and they're not afraid to show blood. The jaw and lack of gore are what I remember the most about it.

Right, exactly. It drives me crazy. I was so mad at that movie, I couldn't enjoy a second of it. They basically turned it into a caricature of the book. And that's why authors need to be involved when their books are made into movies. That's true, but blood never really spatters anywhere in Harry Potter. And the audience matured as the characters did, for the most part, so they were safer. They also bumped the rating up when it got darker, didn't they? Haha... I guess it wasn't a very memorable movie for either of us.

Unfortunately, many directors kick out the authors saying they don't know anything about stories on screens. I must say, it was weird seeing the author in Twilight, though. Tactfully bloody. I remember that one scene, I think it was in the last movie, or second to last, where Draco and Harry battle in the bathroom and Harry uses that spell that causes Draco to bleed profusely. And then Snape comes in and makes all the blood go back into Draco. That was a really cool scene. Must have taken a lot of fake blood. That's true. I think the highest it went was PG-13. Nope.
