Is the application different from the first round? Or do the pieces we write/have written count towards the pieces in the first round?

The application is to see if you qualify for the workshop - it's going to be much more structured and focused than the general forum, so it does require the application to get in. We'll evaluate applications and let everyone know if they've been accepted or not. The deadline is to be included in the first round of workshops - after that, it's rolling admission and we'll work people into the rotation as they come.
After you've been accepted, you are free to use an application piece for your first workshop, but you don't have to.
