Hello, members of The Echo! I'm so excited to have joined (saw it featured on Proboards) and can't wait to get involved. I'm fourteen and shorter than my thirteen-year-old best friend's little sister. That's about all you need to know, lol. I don't write much, since I don't get a lot of time on the computer and I dislike writing on paper (though I've tried fixing that to have more time to write), but mostly I do poems. I have begun many novels-to-be, but give up after I lose my ideas, partly because of the lack of time. In poems, I like to write about nature and the beauty of it. I'll share a poem on here I wrote a few years ago. For "novels" I write fiction and fantasy, sometimes about people and sometimes about animals.

Hello, Ember! It's great to have you here. (Yay, we're happy that the Proboards feature has brought in some new human faces. ) Totally understand about the novel starting and stopping. Happened to me several times. There's one I'm trying to stick through now. We'll see how that goes. Excited to read some of your poems!

Welcome to The Echo, Ember! Can't wait to read that poem of yours!
I've got the same problem with novels. I honestly have at least ten novels I've started on my computer, each with anywhere between a quarter of a chapter to 5 chapters completed. I haven't even touched most of them in months!

Hey, Ember! I'm vertically challenged, too. Can't wait to read your work! I've found that I stay interested in novels longer when there are people waiting to read the next chapters - so maybe it will help you keep writing them to post them.

Thanks guys, and I'll give that a try, Sapphire. That way it will be like writing chapter long books instead of the whole novel. Something my brain just gets too stuck in.

While you're writing your novel, be sure to keep writing other things too like poems and short stories. I've found writing short things while working on a novel helps me keep motivated.

Writing shorter things is refreshing, too. Especially if they're short enough that you can get the whole thing down in one sitting.
