Inventing words

Does anyone besides me invent words? I just realized that I do a little while ago when I invented the word eagallian (like that of an eagle; like an eagle ;D). Whenever I think something's a word, but it turns out it's not, I'm just like, what the heck, IT IS NOW!

Aha, proper nouns. Yeah, I do those too, sometimes, but mine never come out right. Naming things isn't my strong point.

Yes, I do make up words. I've found that I tend to combine words and then I'm surprised to find out it's not actually a word. Like ginormous.
The funny thing is that I'll make up words when talking, but I don't write these words down. It's just a quirky verbal thing.

I make up words sometimes, but I prefer to use more obscure words with cool meanings if I'm looking for a new word to use. Or at least take a root word that means something cool and twist it.

My writing class a couple of years ago played Scrabble with the rule that you could only use made up words. We had to make up a word and a definition, and the other teams would vote on whether they'd accept it or not. It was really fun. It was meant to get us thinking about how sounds influence meaning.

I don't make up words often, but I do use a lot of words from other languages. I recently for my history class had to write a Forest Gump type paper were a fictional character experienced WWII first hand, and in it I used a lot of German. My teacher got a little frustrated because he didn't understand it but I pointed out I had a lot of context clues haha

Otherwise I make words up that are pretty believable, though not often.
