I've actually been listening to music less when I write, lately. I find myself more easily distracted even by orchestral stuff than I used to be. And writing requires a lot more thought than it used to. I'm glad I decided to get a degree in it, but sometimes I wish it was still as easy and fun as it used to be. Not that I don't still love writing, of course. It's just different now.

Growing up sucks. I miss when I could just doodle some scaly beast without having to think of "what I'm trying to convey".

Haha, I know. It was so easy to just write and let my characters go on an adventure, without worrying about character development and world building and natural dialogue. Sometimes it's fun to just be overdramatic and not worry about who's going to think what about it.

Just now I tried the writing equilivent of doodling and came up with a rather cute story about a little girl who hears something in her attic and finds a lumpy goblin-like creature, who was very sad because he was so lonely. She tries to help him impress a female goblin by loaning him her teddy's jeans.
I'll be doing this more often. Again, playing = great thing.
