Everybody likes to talk about themselves, right? Anyway this post is like 1/2 honest curiosity, and 1/2 an excuse for me to freak out about DRIVE, which I watched several weeks ago and still am freaking out over. Definitely one of my top three favorite movies.
Anyway here are mine, not ordered very well but whatever:
TIED FOR FIRST WE HAVE: 1. V for Vendetta 1. Princess Mononoke 1. DRIVE TIED FOR SECOND: 2. Fight Club 2. SLC Punk 2. Mad Max 2. The Lion King
I also really like Akira, Ink, Moonrise Kingdom, Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, the Shawshank Redemption, and the anime Wolf's Rain.
And I have seen only a fraction of the movies I want to see!
Anyway two questions: what are your favorite movies? And, what are some examples of the movie being better than the book? What are some examples of the book being better than the movie?

TOP TEN (not in particular order) 1. LotR trilogy 2. Star Wars (original trilogy) 3. Chronicles of Riddick 4. The Avengers 5. The Dark Knight 6. UP 7. Sahara 8. Matrix 9. Mr. Deeds 10. Pirates of the Carribean
I definitely preferred the LotR movies over the books, which were just a little too dry and way to slow. I must admit, I enjoyed the Twilight novels... those movies are some of the worst peices of shit I've ever seen.

UP was so great It felt like the return of the classic Disney movie, you know? None of this Disney Channel mindless-entertainment-for-preteens shit.

It told a better love story in ten minutes than Twilight did with four films. It was a return to the classic Disney feel... i still like watching the classics like Lion King and Toy Story (but i have no one to watch them with anymore )

Definitely! That montage had me bawling. Awwww, I'll watch them with you! Let's both get copies and time it so we're watching the same parts at the same time. What happened, if you don't mind me asking?

Haha, not the same as sittin next to someone but sounds great BALTO!!! ...'nuff said I think I've only seen Mulan once or twice... i'll have to add that one to my priority list of movies to see A bunch of my friends are still in high school and they just got into the "I'm a grownup" mentality and think that it isn't a grown-up thing to do... they'll come out it sooner or later. (if you're reading this Spectre, we need to watch Lion King 1/2 with that brother of yours when we get back!)

Ooh my top ten in no particular order are probably: 1. History of the World Part 1 (I love the crude humor in it! Mel Brooks is hilarious... usually.) 2. The Avengers (Great movie, loved it. That's about all I have to say.) 3. LotR Trilogy (I've loved them since I was a little kid!) 4. Titan AE (It brings back childhood memories.) 5. Pirates of the Caribbean (Haven't seen the newest one, yet, and only bits and pieces of At World's End.) 6. Master of Disguise (Am I not turtley enough to be in the turtle club? Turtle! Turtle!) 7. Shrek (The first two) 8. Star Wars (Original Trilogy, of course. They're actually talking about making one about Yoda. Should've never sold to Disney....) 9. the Spy Kids movies (1st and 3rd, 2nd is alright and 4th is a bit boring.) 10. Rango (The movie's hilarious)
Honorable Mentions: Transformers (1st movie) The Tooth Fairy 2 (With Larry the Cable Guy... oh, it's hilarious!) Toy Story (The first one.)
I'm in High School and I could never grow out of kids movies (mostly because I refuse to watch horror, but still...). I love them, they make me feel 10, again, before the worry and responsibility. Everything was easier back then.

Let's see, what can I list in no particular order:
1) Monty Python and The Holy Grail (I mean obviously) 2) Airplane! (Yes I am serious, and don't call me Shirley) 3) Spaceballs 4) Dr. Strangelove (You can't fight in here, this is the war room!) 5) Real Genius 6) Kung Fu Panda 2
Some non-comedies 1) Memento (I mean wow.) 2) Inception 3) Matrix 4) The Patriot (This movie seriously makes me cry every time) 5) Patton 6) Gladiator (How can you not be entertained?) 7) Miracle on 34th Street 8) Back to the Future (All three) 9) Serenity (I'm a leaf on the wind) 10) Princess Bride
At least there's the ones I thought of off the top of my head.
