This isn't a debate nor do I mean to be invasive or offensive. The 'Ranting Thread' just got me wondering what fellow members believe. Mostly I want to know who is what so I know what to say or what not to say to my fellow members. If a fellow Christian needs a good word of advice I'd like the be there. Sorry in advance if this seem inappropriate. If the staff wishes to delete the thread that's fine. I'm not trying to create any hard-feelings or make any one uncomfortable so please, if everyone could respect everyone else's belief I'd appreciate it as well.

The really funny thing about this day and age, is the modern view of 'tolerance'. You have to respect what i believe, but i don't have to respect what you believe. It's completly self contradictory.

Tell me about it It's ridiculous that saying "a bunch of stupid muslims" is offensive while "a bunch of stupid christians" gets a laugh

I noticed that with a certain person I know. They believe differently than I do and I'll respect their beliefs, but they won't respect mine. Sometimes it's frustrating. No one can disagree agreeably when it comes to religion--or politics--or race. Ha ha.

It's funny, but makes me think 'seriously?' At least the Canadians can laugh at themselves and allow others to laugh at them as well. I love the Canadians.

It's impossoble to argue when your opponent uses absolutely no logic.

I think this thread is fine, Toni. We're all pretty respectful of each other here, so I can't imagine it starting any arguments. I agree that hypocrisy is annoying. You see it all the time, especially online - usually with insistence that one religion is persecuted more than another, when really we all have those who are ready to knock us down. It's easier for people to talk that way when they're anonymous, too - the arguments I've seen online are far worse than any I've seen in real life.

hardly anyone understands how to do a simple discusion. It always escalates into an argument where all that you do is insult eachother.

But it's so simple! What I believe is 'true' for me, and what you believe is WRONG.
I agree; it's really too bad. As for politics (and sometimes religion, when people classify Christian=right and atheist=left, which is way too generalized), it seems to me that both sides tend to avoid the other. If we hung out with the 'others' a little more, I think we'd see it's not as much of an 'us vs them' problem as we think it is.
Or we would just fight more. I don't really know.

exactly. People forget that that person who believes in God and owns a gun is a nice person and isn't (coontrary to some's belief) EVIL. As soon as you demonize the other in your head, there is no chance that either of you will be able to help eachother.
